Manchester United to ‘lodge opening £40m transfer bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane’
The Red Devils are desperate to land the young English striker who scored 31 goals last season.
Vice-chairman Ed Woodward has made signing Kane his number one priority this summer.
And he has opened proceedings with a £40m offer, according to the Star.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is keen to hold out for £50m but it is thought that a deal will be struck.
Kane is currently with the England under-21’s team preparing for the European Under-21 Championships in the Czech Republic.
